Why use pediatric case managers?
Rebound Kids offers a paediatric case management model to support recovery for children with severe brain and spinalcord injuries.
Child Development
As experienced Paediatric clinicians we have an in-depth understanding of typical childhood development and how to work with children whose development has been interrupted by traumatic injuries – offering the right treatments at the right stage of their development.
Building a relationship with your child is paramount to the success of their rehabilitation. Our case managers will work with your child to explain their role in a way that your child will understand. In doing so we help your child to feel supported and have a sense that their case manager is there for them and will help them through their difficulties and help them to achieve their goals. Our case managers are continually developing and have access to significant external resources, such as age-appropriate information sheets.
While in hospital you meet so many specialist and therapists it is often so overwhelming that information and follow-up get missed. This is where we come in as case managers who specialise in coordinating and overseeing paediatric and youth rehabilitation. Our job is to ensure that nothing is missed and all reasonable and necessary treatment, rehabilitation and care is provided. We ensure that your care providers have all the clinical information they need to make appropriate decisions about your child.
The Lifetime Care and Support Authority administers the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme, which provides treatment, rehabilitation and care for people severely injured in motor accidents in NSW, regardless of who was at fault in the accident.
Life is tough enough at this age without an accident affecting everything. You may find that you are not only dealing with the changes to your body after the accident but to the changes in your home life and what your parents or guardians want or let you do.
